I've always been a terrible sleeper...

I've been having a lot of vivid dreams lately. Don't know what that's all about. I'm talkin' wake-me-up-in-the-middle-of-the-night-because-they-seem-so-real dreams. Recently, I woke up convinced I had H1N1. I was so convinced I had to get up and check the symptoms online to confirm my oncoming cold wasn't swine flu.

Well... *shifty eyes*... It seems I could learn a thing or two about online research, because after a visit to the doctor Monday night following two days of fever, aches, and a smoker's cough, it turns out my initial nocturnal diagnosis was correct: I do in fact have H1N1.

Now, before we go all loco here I should clarify: I have "low grade influenza". This is a fancy way of saying I have a bad flu. I'm not in quarantine, although I've been told to stay away from work until the symptoms (fever and aches) pass. Lets keep our fingers crossed that's Thursday. Although I'm feeling substantially better than I was yesterday, I think another day away is probably best for all involved--I sound A LOT worse than I feel and nobody needs me hacking and sneezing all over the keyboards and phones.

That said, being inside watching TV all day is... boring. Thankfully dearest Beef made a drive-by drop off with Lil C', leaving enough soup, Kleenex, and trashy mags to sink a ship. And Mama LL always knows the right thing to say and do (god bless the microwavable heating bag...) My biggest concern is the possibility of my having infected Orange, Beef, Mom, and Fingers because I've spent a lot of time with all as of late. I've told them all to stock up on vitamin C and to get lots of rest... With a seven day incubation period, I've got all extremities crossed. Pray Shiloh no one else gets sick.

Ugh.
*sniff*
*cough*
Blarg.

Have no fear, kiddies. I'm back at work today! Hurrah for feeling better and productivity. Boo for feeling sick and lounging for hours on end... Well... Not really... Lounging for hours on end is always lovely...

Ick - swine flu! I just got back from conference to find a flu ridden little girl. Not H1N1, but enough of the flu to have her wake Daddy by throwing up on him.

I'm praying I don't get it. Hadn't mentioned yet, but I am five months pregnant. Morning sickness is bad enough without the flu.

Glad to hear you are feeling better!
